How To Recycle Candles and Purchase Candle Making Supplies Online

I love scented candles. There is nothing better when I need to relax and unwind. There is a really great candle shop in Broken Arrow where I live called The Secret Garden. Every time I get paid I stock up on a months worth of their awesome scents. I only have one issue with my candle obsession. I have tons of candle holders that are overflowing with candle wax. Usually I take the holders and put them in the oven at a low temperature until enough of the wax melts and the left over wax slides out of the holder. I was doing this a while back and the thought occurred to me that I could recycle the old wax and use it to create new candles. I started researching candle making supplies and here are some of the sites I found that are extremely helpful. It isn't hard to recycle your used candles, it's actually a lot of fun-and it's always a surprise to smell the new scents that you get.
The process of Candle Recycling
You don't need a lot of equipment to recycle old candles or create new ones. You need a simple pouring pot, a pot to boil water, candle wicks, and a container to pour the melted wax into. It's that simple.
Your first step is to get the old wax out of the candle holders or jars. You can accomplish this by either putting the holder in boiling water until the wax melts, or put them in the oven at a low temperature until the wax melts. Once the wax is pliable and can be taken out of the holder, put it in your pouring pot. Take as much of the old wick out as possible. If you don't get it all out that's ok, during the melting process the wick and wick clip will naturally fall to the bottom of the pouring pot and you can take them out after you have poured all the melted wax.
Next you need to combine all of your old wax in the pouring pot and melt it until it is completely liquid. Once you have done this you are ready to pour your new candles. You can pour the wax into your old candle jars, new jars, decorative cups, molds, or almost anything that you want. Put a prewicked clip into the bottom of your container, slowly pour in the liquid wax, and let cool. Viola-new candles!
